Das Königreich Tonga besteht aus 170 bewohnten und unbewohnten Inseln, weit verbreitet im Pazifischen Ozean. Auf der Inselgruppe Vava'u mache ich Halt in Neiafu. Die Fahrt durch die fjordähnliche Meereslandschaft erinnert mich sehr an Norwegen...wenn die Palmen nicht wären. Heute ist der Kronprinz zu Besuch und ihm zu Ehren wird eine festliche Zeremonie abgehalten. Da lasse ich doch gerne meinen Wanderstein Frangipani an der Anlegestelle unterhalb des Marktes liegen. Und er wird auch sogleich von Cornelia mitgenommen, die ihn wieder mit nach Deutschland nehmen will. Mal sehen, wohin er dann weiterreist.
The Kingdom of Tonga has 170 islands scattered over the Pacific Ocean, some of them are inhabited. I stop over in Neiafu on the Vava'u island group. The trip along the Fjord-like scenery reminds me very much of Norway...if there wouldn't be any palm trees. Today the Crown Prince is visiting the island and a festive ceremony is held in his honor. I like to leave my hiking stone Frangipani at the jetty below the market. And he is taken immediately from Cornelia, who will carry him back to Germany. Let's see where he is traveling to next.
